Sunscreen Protection for "Safer Fun in the Sun"

Safer Fun in the Sun

  1. AVOID SUN BETWEEN 10:00AM AND 4:00PM.
Sunscreen is not a cure, it is an aid.

  2. USE SUNSCREENS WHICH ARE SPF OF 30 OR HIGHER AND HAVE BROAD UVA PROTECTION
Sunscreens of higher SPF should be used by those who are particularly sun sensitive.

  3. APPLY SUNSCREEN 20 TO 30 MINUTES BEFORE SUN EXPOSURE.
Apply correctly. Sunscreen should be re-applied every 2 hours.

  4. SUNSCREENS ALONE ARE NOT ENOUGH
Use hats and glasses, especially in bright light, and for reflected light from water, sand, and snow..

  5. PROTECT LIPS TOO.

  6. AVOID SUNBURN, SUNLAMPS, AND TANNING PARLORS.

  7. EXAMINE YOUR SKIN ON A REGULAR BASIS.
